The Chase by christwriter The Chase by christwriter
The Chase is Leythorne's favored ship. It was one of four ships taken from pirates threatening his islands. Renamed Chase, Prosper, Harvest and Victory (The Isles were very into positive thinking in the early days) these ships formed the foundation for Leythorne's fleet. Because the ocean around the Gray Isles doesn't always adhere to the laws of physics, Leythorne rigged the ships to fly.

The Chase is rather old now, and most of the original wood has been replaced. She's not a part of the fleet anymore. Rather, students at Leythorne's College study both the theory and operation of Sunstone mechanics (creation is covered in another class, and surprisingly few students adept at making sunstones ever bother mastering the enchantment part of Sunstone creation) and the basic operations of both a flying ship and the traditional sailing kind. For five hundred years pirates became very surprised when that sweet merchant vessel suddenly rose out of the water and began firing magic-pumped cannons at it.

Doing well. Still working on my art, just started back to college and am currently working as a math tutor there. Also in the process of prototyping a new rather steampunk invention of mine. I'll put up pictures when I get it going. Yourself?

Working on books, and working in general. It's been a fairly good year so far.
